Dr. Francis Soans, MD is a fellowship-trained Glaucoma Specialist who completed a glaucoma fellowship at the University of Michigan. He has been in specialty practice since 2004.
Dr. Soans received his medical degree from St. John's Medical College in Bangalore, India. Following medical school he completed a one-year internship at St. John's Medical College Hospital and a three-year Ophthalmology residency at St. John's National Academy of Health Sciences. Dr. Soans then completed an Internal Medicine internship and another three-year residency in Ophthalmology at the UMDNJ/Cooper Hospital-University Medical Center in New Jersey. In 2003, Dr. Soans completed a glaucoma fellowship at the University of Michigan W.K. Kellogg Eye Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Prior to joining Central Plains Eye MDs he completed an additional one-year retina fellowship in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Soans most recently practiced for over seven years as a consultant surgeon with Southern Eye Physicians in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Soans is now serving patients at Central Plains Eye MDs - Wichita's Center for Glaucoma, Retina & Diabetic Eye Care.
